Random Pairing

I believe the random pairing works out very well in the MOAKT tournament. There are several games that are evenly matched, based on the players rating. For example, T1000 and Lionel, they have very meaningful games. Not like usually when the first round games are immediately mismatches. Just imaging if a player like me, 1100-level rating, would play T1000, Lionel or Icarus in the first round. It would be good for me to learn from the great players, but it would not be challenging for the opponent. I am also evenly matched🙂

I'd have to say that based on what I've seen, that 1100 rating is not indicative of your own ability - I'm sure we'll see you climbing the ratings soon enough.

I agree about the random pairings though - I have two challenging games I am looking forward to.

didn't make much difference for me...my opponent (Darren Reed) is rated exactly 352 points higher than me...

i guess it's going to be another couple of those 'learning experiences' i have so many of, yet fail to learn from...😕
