i was kinda bored during a double period of english today, and i started to think...

to travel backwards in time you first must travel faster than the speed of light, which is not possibile as if you were to do that your mass would be infinite and so infinite energy would be needed, which isn't possible

the earth is rotating, i have no idea how fast-lets say 100m/s. if you were to travel in the opposite direction from the way in which the earth is rotating at (3x10^8)-50 m/s, then, relative to the earth, you would be travelling at (3x10^8)+50 m/s - faster than the speed of light, and so back in time!!!

this is probubly all completly wrong, and if it is a blame my english teacher for boring me stupid...😛 (she was talking about some short story that i'm not doing, which was really boring...)

It is wrong, because if I have interpreted what you have said correctly, then you are violating the main point of the theory of relativity, which merely says that one cannot add one's velocity to the speed of light, which is the same relative to any object.

is it the speed that that happens for, or for photons? and why does it occur? (i'm not confused...😛)

Say you move at velocity v, and c is the velocity of light. Since an object's relativistic factor (1-(v/c)^2)^(-1/2) is undefined when v>=c, one cannot move at the speed of light or faster, nor can one add one's velocity to that of light, as doing so would result in v>c.

If you guys skipped lessons, well, tell your tech:I have a job for her.
Do any of you guys know at what age Eintsein started to speak?
He was over three years old.

I have been told that there are stars moving away from us at a speed greater than light, but this is because they are moving away from us & we are moving away from them. From a central point we are both under the speed of light.
I've only been told this, not investigated it, so don't ask how we'd know of the existance of something we couldn't possibly detect...

Quite an interesting post...In fact, I believe genius skipped lessons only in his mind....Wouldn't it be interesting to read before you could speak?

Have you ever seen something that made you think?

Yes, I think too deeply about too much. It isn't healthy.

I have also seen many things that make me realise that many people don't think.

I did not mean it in that sense.
He must have been taking in information.(All that time)
I do not agree he is a role,if he was here he could put the case.

Who's not a role? (sorry-I'm a bit thick right now...exams all day.)

I just meant hypothetically. Reading offers a huge amount of information about everything. Imagine having access to it but being unable to express your thoughts.

Life is like chess.
You don't win games by resigning.
You don't get on in life by giving up.
