Though they are pretty much meaningless, many people crave them pointlessly and others give them out with no real consideration. It's up to you how you use them. The right to give recs is only available to subscribers, though both subs and non-subs may recieve them.
Being fairly new to the site I was curious about what the recs (in my stats)and recomendations (in the forums) are,
where they come from,
and how they are received.
Would someone mind taking the time to explain this to me?
Thanks

Who's given you over a hundred recs in 2 months? What's going on?
At first, I limited my search to just a few days, in hopes of extrapolating the number found over the course of my illustrious (but limited) career here on Time For Chess. The results were inconclusive.
Next, I expanded my search to include more days, but not quite a month. Exhausting, but still unsatisfactory.
I've not yet been able to find the time, so if you are so inclined to aid in this important study, perhaps you could see your way to counting all recs from all posts going back to December 04, 2005? It would be ever so helpful in putting this question to bed. And, it's for posterity. And the kids!
EDIT: Plus, there is a rec in it for you upon completion.
