If the wreck count were dropped, maybe every player should be assigned a random number which changes every three days or so. Then we could talk about how nice, high, interesting etc. those random numbers are. 😉
I think it might be best to simply drop the rec number as part of a player's statistics. As I see it, the purpose of recs is to make it easier to find interesting posts. You rec a post, not the poster (or at least that's how it should be). If you couldn't see how many recs a person has, maybe people would stop to focus so much on this, to have competitions about it, or to rec people instead of posts.

You must have one hell of a social life.
However it sounds a bit hypocritical said by you: I'm not the one spending his time writing issues about hanging balls, hemorroids, bodily fluids and such great things.
Nor I spend my time eating hash balls because I can't smoke them.
I bet I have a social life better than yours, nor that I think you have one.

I don't agree.

[EDIT] Having said that, I think there should be a posts per recs ratio, which would give an indication without promoting spamming the forums, like the total posts did.
Some people have gotten recs by either subscribing again and giving themselves hundreds of recs (sad), or having some sad case spend hours in 1 night going through the posts, reccing them all (sadder). Examples of these are katty or bowmann.
