I think we should get rid of recs or adopt a weekly limit. They have become meaningless, and they are of different value to the different people that give them out. A weekly limit would establish a certain som ...[text shortened]... c. It's like we're a country that keeps printing currency, so the currency becomes worthless.

Recs were useless the day someone got 40 for running a 'poll'... and just as useless when users get recs for personally abusing other RHP users.
Not to mention recs given to users who claim 'good people' burn in hell.
Heck, it used to bug the crap out of me when I'd write an ok post... and someone would say 'Good post, I agree'....
and they'd get 7 to 9 recs for just agreeing!?

Last time this came up, my idea was this. Total number of recs OVER number of people who have rec'd you. So, lets say you have 65 recs from 2 users... chances are your recs mean nothing.
If you have 120 recs from about 50 or more users... that means your recs are worth 'something' to several users at RHP. I'd love to know how many different users have rec'd my posts.... I also think most of them are for me saying something funny, but a few have been for either good ideas... or honest upfront info on a subject.
