I just came back here after about five years. It seems like there are a lot fewer open invites/ activity. For those of you that have been here for a while, have people been leaving? If so, where does everyone play chess now?

Yahoo... Facebook... Gameknot... em, some other website. RHP was the second site i came across in my search to play some non-blitz chess. The first, whose name i can't remember sucked.

The problem is people keep joining up, then inexplicably going off somewhere for about 5 years; presumably to take a random walk in the rhp Bermuda triangle.

Community??

Where do we all at RHP sociographically share our needs, values, and common interests? Quite the contrary! Most people here are individualistic, and take a personal pat on the back for personal rapport.

There is not much social development here, nor encouragement nor support.

This is far from a community, and closer to anarchaism. 😀

Maybe so. But I would say it's still a community, even if it is dysfunctional.
