No, it was clear to everyone that wasn't already biased against XNZ that it was a sarcastic quote.

Which implies he found her and those opinions of her ridiculous.

it wasn't clear to anyone at the time.

And I would tell you to read the thread but the questionable post by Xanthos has been deleted.

AND INSTEAD OF TWISTING THE FACTS AROUND, TRY TO DEFEND THE REST OF WHAT HE SAID.

Well, it would be easy. He had just got through calling someone on this forum such vile and vulgar profanities. An very harassing insult to a woman. Making fun of a woman who had been in an abusive relationship. Then talking to a hispanic woman who doesn't have the best command of the English language. I think in the context of what was happening at the time. It was a poor way to communicate the issue. He could have stated in his post that he was giving a generalisation of what this teen said. But instead he through it out like gasoline on a house fire.

I was there, that's what happened.

And, as I recall, his "response" was not directly to the post that the Minister of Propaganda quotes, but rather to an intervening post, which at the very least added to the confusion.

In any event, I'll forget about the "brown people" reference. It's irrelevant. JUSTIFY THE REST of what was said.

That's not the point. The point is that you can't repeat a racial slur and then say you were quoting someone else. In civilized conversation, you have to be very careful to point out up front that you are about to quote someone and disclaim in advance that you find the remark offensve and even then you're skating on thin ice.
...[text shortened]... y good to follow up an offensive racial remark by saying "I was just quoting Mark Furman."
Oh please!

Shove that political correctness up your ass, where it will do some good.

Why should we make sure we don't tread on any toes when posting? If you don't like something you read here, alert it if it breaks the rules, or move on.

You're not going to 'clean up' the forums by yourself!

Let's just have one set of standards.

If you're on this site and you use the forums, but your command of the English language is not up to scratch - you will leave yourself open to ridicule. This is an English site after all...
I have some command of Dutch, but you don't see me posting on Dutch forums and then getting my panties in a twist because I can't really write Dutch.

English is only my second language, but there are millions of spell checkers etc. you can use. This excuse has been used too many times.

Totally irrelevant.

Except for the repetition of the belief in a right to ridicule.

Well, that is as prejudice of a statement as the "I hate brown people statement" that some teen aledidly said. "Open for ridicule." Come to Texas and talk like Xan did and you will be picking your teeth up off the floor.

I'm stating fact not fiction. You don't talk to women like that in Texas.
