The forums should be open for people whose English isn't up to scratch - they may not have similar forums in their own language, they may have friends here, it's a great way to learn, and as long as they can make themselves understood most of the time, I don't see why it should be a problem. And I don't think they should be ridiculed if they do their best.

That said, I don't even know why this has been brought up here. I can't find a post where Xanthos was ridiculing CrazyLilTing for her English. Has it been removed?

That's like... your opinion, man.

I certainly wouldn't be "picking my teeth up", but if it makes you feel all warm and righteous inside, keep that mental image for a rainy day, sailor.

Unfortunately, this ain't Texas cowboy. Here we talk to woman any damn way we please.

By the looks of things you are right about your last sentence. That and the Unfortunate part.

I think at this point we are discussing Crowley's comments.

I don't have a clue what was posted. It doesn't matter.

I'm not a spelling-Nazi like Bowmann et al, but if someone makes a stupid mistake, I have the right to joke and ridicule.
Hell, I can even even justify it as my educational tool.
If you want to learn a language, that's fine, but I don't need people posting angry replies (not necessarily here, but in general) and then hiding behind the mother tongue defence when I (or someone else) take their posts apart.

There are forums catering for basically every language on the web. If you want to post here, you should be able to converse in English.

So, are you (and trashey) saying woman should not be treated as equals?
