RHP 2023 Prose competition

OK, lets see if we can have a new edition of the time-honoured competition.

Rules will be presented like the last one.

Now I ask everybody for usggestions about topics.

My suggestions:

nautical theme
"in a bubble"

or a picture worth 1000 words (I would look for a link to a picture, that I think is open enough for a lot of stories and is freely accesible.

I envisage a closed system, the limits of which could be defined in a variety of ways.

I grew up in a small seaside town, that was like living in a bubble and didn't really prepare me for life in a big city.

Have a beginning and an end, and then meander between the two.

I grew up in a small seaside town. Then all the chavs and drug fiends moved in.
I fled to the big city for a quiet life.

As an alternative.

I grew up in a small seaside town but a giant tsunami destroyed the town. Later I moved to a large city with a low tsunami risk.

Are you sure it was a giant tsunami and not a normal sized tsunami.
A giant tsunami might have destroyed the city as well. 😏
