so... if(?)/ when this happens I will offer one of the following:

A copy of a Mix CD I made in the summer recording 3 track mixes and cut'n pasting on my MD player - yes it took a while to get to where it is, and it is far from perfect, still wortha listen though 🙂

Or, The next 75 mins (appx) from my Itunes Party Shuffle (at the time I come to record this). This could include almost anything but likely to feature heavy on electronica/dance genre or hiphop (not hippop btw) genre.

Interested to hear what else is on offer!

If there are any benevolent hosters out there with some webspace and bandwidth to offer, we could just do it that way. Save swapping addresses and actually having to use snail mail.

I think I'd provide my swap mate with 2 cds, cos to be honest I've a fairly eclectic taste in music and they don't all mix well. 1 would be a mix of downbeat electronica, chilledish dnb, a wee bit of rnb type music, probably some jazz 'n bass. The other then would include some Spanish and Brazilian music, mixed with some indie type bands.

Sounds good to me.

I have quite an ecclectic taste in music as well so will have to put some thought into what I am going to burn. Mainly I like dance music and punk but my missus is an indie fanatic and some of that stuff is good too.

Also, if someone puts all the files on a website then we can all get a copy of everybody's mix.

If we don't have to swap addresses (dumb net-nanny prevents me typing personal details into forums etc) and use this webspace thing count me in!

I thought the whole idea of this was to use snail mail? Getting that package with all those weird, colourful stamps for my collection.... er....

I have loads of webspace available, so we could do it like that, but we'd have to limit the people to 10 or less. My hosting company probably wouldn't like to see a sudden traffic spike and then see I'm hosting MP3's for the RHP community's amusement.

Look, if we just use the web then we might as well just fire up kazaa. I'd really like if we could use normal mail channels, but if no-one wants to do it like that we could use my hosts.

Having something tangible music wise does somehow make it better. I don't mind either way.

I'm with Crowley on this, the original idea Darvlay put forward had a sense of nostalgia to it, something I feel would be lost if we just traded online, he's right, I could get all the songs on Kazaa. I'm for using analogue delivery methods 🙂

Hey all. If it isn't too late, and we're going by mail, I'm in.

Yup. Although agreeing with English cricket supporters goes against my small amount of moral fibre...
