The rock opera, Tommy, was groundbreaking, but my favourite Who albums were Live at Leeds and Who's Next.

San Francisco in the '60s and '70s was a charmed time and place to grow up, musically. Sorry to have missed The Who, of course, but I saw many other legendary bands: The Grateful Dead (at the Filmore West), Allman Bros., Led Zep, Frank Zappa, EC, Jeff Beck, Santana, B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, . . .

Somehow I missed the Stones and Fleetwood Mac though.

Kudos. I probably won't get to see the Stones. There's a pandemic on, so all concerts are off, and I doubt all of them are going to live much longer. Keith Richards looks like the walking dead.
