We are procrastinating about deciding on a deadline.

At the moment the votes are open until interest in this competition has waned, then we'll add a week or so on to that, and that'll be the deadline. So it'll be at least two weeks.
Four days since the last vote. Maybe a deadline is in order.

Thanks to everybody who wrote an entry with more than 500 words - that made it much easier for me to choose because I dismissed those immediately.

1. Unleashed
I like how it hovers between dream, thought and reality. I would have dropped the last "shimmering", even though it is quite pleasing that the entry has exactly 500 words.

2. Midnight Special
Weird and disturbing. I am not sure what it's all about, but I like it.

3. Writer's Block
All too familiar...

Honourable mention to Percival's Sandwich, which almost made the list. It may sound a bit too much like a school assignment, but I found it quite entertaining and fun to read.

I've never won?
What the hell is that all about then?

My votes are for:

1. Dealer's Choice. Porrly written, but interesting.

2. metal detecting. Reasonably well written story about nothing. (sometime's nothing is good.)

3. bits & pieces well written, poor ending, derivative of a "beautiful mind"

Um... That's 21:58 GMT then. Will it become earlier and earlier?
