Maybe not for your readers so much but certainly mine πŸ™
As it's really hot today, I'm going to agree with you.

Wow...I must mark that down on a calendar! How hot is it? We are around 24C but cloudy so doesn't seem so hot. I'm usually good untill it gets up around the 30C mark! πŸ˜‰

@moonbus
Thank you for your comments, but I disagree.
Also, there's only room for one chef in this kitchen. πŸ˜‰

The Crayon: Excellent story, excellent idea. This would have made a very good episode of the original Twilight Zone tv show, and ranked among my favorites this year. For those not familiar with the name, Adolf Diekmann was a Nazi SS stormtrooper responsible for a massacre in a French village. https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Diekmann
Thank you for the compliment.

LOL@ Silly ghost....Are you making sure everyone knows you have me on ignore? I am thinking they really don't care one way or the other!!! πŸ˜‰

As for the Heat, I feel bad for the people living there!

I like the 800 word limit it compels you edit and word count and it’s part of the challenge. I’m sure it could be useful to add another sentence or two but there is also the risk of rambling.
I agree, the word limit is part of the challenge. As we have seen in this and previous years, it is quite possible to compose publishable quality in 800 words.

I'm eating al fresco in a T-shirt.
Most years can see snow on the hill tops.
(It is mid-winter here)

So my plan to make an extra 10 dollars a year from Kindle sales is probably not going to pan out before things go completely topsy-turvy.

That sounds like something Hannibal Lector would say.

"I'm eating Al Fresco,....in a T-shirt."

I, of course, stole the best line to end of one my stories:

“Oh, I ate her liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.”

(Have spoken of this before, but Hannibal was actually making a medical joke with this line. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors were probably used to treat him, and what are the three things you're not allowed to eat while taking them? Liver, beans and wine. - As a psychiatrist, Lecter would have known this, so as well as making Clarice uncomfortable he was cracking a joke for his own amusement and hinting that he hasn't been taking his meds).
