Since i'm an emo kid. I've been wondering what statement should be deemed the most depressing. Jokes such as "Not tonight, I have a headache" are allowed... for a bit I guess. While a lot of statements about death and lost love are up there, my most sad phrase ever is:
"Too Late"
What is worse than having a chance at something, missing it, and never having it again?

fill me with dread and then inevitably lead to sadness

but i think perhaps yours is worse. I dont think there is anything worse than losing a loved one in death. :'( a sad post man
