It's sad when you ask that, or are getting asked that. Getting an answer is even sadder. Even 'nothing, really' cause that would suggest you are left for no reason.
Another sad one: 'Still not married?'
Not because you would have wanted to be married, but because they suggest that you do, and even if you don't, you eventually will.
