IIIIIIIIII KNOW ABOUT WHAT ALCOHOL DOES, AND I DO NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS SUCH AS INFERING THAT SOMEONE I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT IS LYING IN THE GUTTER BACAUSE OF ALCOHOL.
One: I respected your opinion. I merely think that saying something is "evil" just because you don't like it does NOT make it evil. There are a lot of things in this world I consider evil but someone else doesn't.

Now, with the reference to the gutter, I was using the plural tense of the word you. The comment was not direct at you in particular. However, if that's how you took it, then that's how you took it.

alcohol can be evil to some. i've had friends with alcohol addictions who died from it, other's have had lives ruined, etc, etc.

i still drink, but i ain't addicted. i use it.
So what are we arguing about? It does seem hypocritical of you to say alcohol is evil and still drink.

By pap is a drunk. Hell, my uncle and I are both drunks, too. But in the morning we get up and do what we need to do.

As for your friends with an addiction to alcohol, I 've been in that boat. It almost made me fail out of college (well, it didn't, I did). And I've put my family through some crap over it. However, when you hit the bottom, you learn what you are made of and I graduated with honors. They weren't as high as I would have liked them but what can you do?

Now, if you want to talk about addiction, message me. I can tell you things that to this day make me sick and are the reasons why my father and I don't talk.

But you see my point. And I noticed that your tone has settled down some.

I thought he was extremely funny. I was especially amused because he was simultaneously a member of the Newcastle United and Sunderland Clans, although I noticed he dropped out of the latter pretty quickly when I pointed it out.

Ha, that would explain it...my impression is that he was generally using the Geordie dialect in much the same way as Bowmann uses "Cor!" - it cheered me up no end, but probably confused a lot of people who didn't quite understand the context.
