@ghost-of-a-duke saidI saw 'a sad celebrity who lied about a gay affair, presumably to keep it from his family and hide his sexuality/protect his career.
Yes, please do. It's on page 7. Dive had created the thread to draw a strange link between Schofield and the crimes of his brother. (As though such things run in our genetics).
I made clear that I hadn't really been following the story, but that I saw 'a sad celebrity who lied about a gay affair, presumably to keep it from his family and hide his sexuality/protect ...[text shortened]... also pretty sad.'
More details came out later of course, but unlike some I don't rush to judge.
A man in a position of power was having sexual intercourse with a subordinate, lying to everyone who trusted him and looked up to him about it, and presiding over a toxic workplace due to his narcissism, deceitfulness, and sexual impropriety. Why do you see him as "a sad celebrity"?
@fmf said'Sad' as in pitiful or feeble. I wasn't referring to him being unhappy.

My interest in the thread was sparked by Dive drawing a link with his convicted brother, as though the two went hand in hand. I seem to recall you agreed with him, that we are somehow to be blamed/connected for the crimes of a sibling.
-Removed-Has anybody argued that families never contain more than one criminal?
We were talking about you creating a thread and immediately linking the braking story of Schofield with his convicted brother with comments like, "Perhaps it’s a family trait…sexual misbehaviour and lying about it."
If that's what you believe, so be it.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidYour other "interest" on that thread appeared to be expressing ambivalence about him creating a toxic workplace and also making a point of scoffing at the sexual impropriety of a predator celebrity with considerable power over the young man he had targeted.

@ghost-of-a-duke said"Exactly" what, though?
Exactly.
By page 12 of the Schofield thread, the wheels on your spate of shallow principle-free internet forum posturing had completely fallen off.
You were in full flight from an adult discussion about sex, the power dynamic, ethics, and predatory behaviour.
You were still making excuses for the backstabbing predator celebrity who had created toxicity in his workplace because of his non-existent ethics regarding sex between superiors and subordinates.
Anyone interested can go and see for themselves what I am referring to.
