The kindergartens aren't closed during summer (they are only closed for the children during the "planning days" ), but I have very little work at the moment because most of the children I work with are on holidays.
At my school kids go back September 5th, but we go back the week before.
We didn't get out until June 10th. When I worked in another state, though, we didn't get out until June 24th!:'(:'(:'(
I still have workshops and stuff in the summer -- went to two days on Character Education and have a week-long one the end of July on Guided Reading. I get planning stuff done during the summer, but really should be working on the school web site!
