Today three years ago the Twin Tower Attack was carried out.

I hope such or a similar event will never take place again. We will have to tackle the problem of terrorism. Let's hope the world leaders can work together on this and may they receive resourcefulness, wisdom and strenght to do so.

Let's remember the victims .......

I'm pretty sure this is only the 10th. But, yes, tomorrow marks 3 years.

The victims that died: I had people that I personally knew that died. A schoolmate's dad died that tragic day.

How can people say that the war on Iraq is useless? Days like these should remind us.

Just remember!

The war with Iraq has nothing to do with 11 September except in that they are both tragic.

No 9/11, no war. Not this soon anyway. It probably would have happened eventually, but not in the order that it did (if 9/11 wouldn't have happened).

I don't know how true that is. What I am certain of is that the invasion of Iraq has nothing to do with fighting against terrorists and that it was sold as such is at best inaccurate and at worst deceitful.

People have different views.

Who knows what the truth is.

I trust Pres. Bush. Some do, some don't. I know the stand you take, Mark ;o)

It's okay. Let's not fight about this. Let's just mourn the loss of all those innocent lives.

I didn't intend to fight; if you wish to discuss the war etc., Ivan has kindly opened the same thread in <Debates>.

I opened a thread on the <Debates> forum called "The Iraq war and the War on Terrorism". You all can go there to discuss things. Let's reserve this thread for remembrance posts. I hope you guys will understand . It is out of respect for the victims and their loved ones.

Thank you.

IvanH.

I am posting this song by Peter, Paul, and Mary to remember those who died on September11, 2001, and to remember those who have died in Iraq, soldiers and civilians, innocent all.

Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago

Where have all the flowers gone

young girls picked them, every one!

When will they ever learn, Oh when will they ever learn

Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing

Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago

Where have all the young girls gone

Gone to young men, every one!

When will they ever learn, Oh when will they ever learn

Where have all the young men gone, long time passing

Where have all the young men gone, long time ago

Where have all the young men gone

Gone for soldiers, every one!

When will they ever learn, Oh when will they ever learn

where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing

Where have all the soldiers gone, a long long time ago

Where have all the soldiers gone

Gone to graveyards, every one!

When will they ever learn, Oh when will they ever learn

where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing

Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago

Where have all the graveyards gone

Gone to flowers, every one!

When will they ever learn, Oh when will they ever learn

I never really knew anyone in the 9/11 attacks, but my best friend Hannah went to the trade centers 3 days before this happened. I can't imagine what life might have been like without her. My deepest sympathies for the victims and their families and friends.

I am going to come across as sounding anti-American which i can assure you is not the case but some points must be made that i have been carrying around for awhile.

3000 people died in 9/11
2500 people died in pearl harbor
5500 people total for the only two strikes against US soil

7000 people die every day in South Africa alone from the Aids virus and it goes unnoticed

8500-15000 people died per day during the 100 day rwandan genocide total death toll 850,000-1,500,000 95% of them were children under the age of five. During the 94 genocide America was transfixed with the Nancy Kerrigan Tanya Harding Scandal and a baseball strike during the 100 days there was only one news broadcast on the news that lasted 3 minutes long. So while millions were dying in rwanda we were agonizing over a summer with no baseball.

My main point is America has been nothing but fortunate in its overall endeavors regarding large loss of life. Just imagine living in war torn Europe after or during world war two. Personaly I will take 9/11 and pearl harbor and save face. America has no sense of globalization when it comes time to assist third world nations, A strong sense of global community is formed when something happens to us but when it happens in Africa who cares.

Yes let´s mourn the good people that died that day. And let´s mourn the people in Palestine that are killed every day in a war financed by the usa.
