To answer your question, probably yes. But then National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation wouldn't have been as funny.

Yes, a tree is for life and not just for Christmas. I wonder how much good those trees actually do for the environment, their leaves don't seem like the type that's going to provide us with much oxygen.

Apparently it takes 6-8 years for a Christmas tree to grow... Seems a waste for something that's going to be used for a couple of weeks.

I've never had a real tree. They were probably too expensive but I don't see anything wrong with a fake tree. It's all decoration, surely doesn't have to be a living thing.

World needs more trees, not less. But more of the right tree. Taking the bus in Malaysia was an eye opener.... Palm trees everywhere. Once natural forest now palm trees. We do a great job of destroying earth.

i apologize

i got me a twenty foot festivus pole
stole it from the home depot
we danced naked around the beast
but the sheriff destroyed the video

it's christmastime deputy! i decried
it's my constitutional right!
when jesus done got elected president
i decided i was gonna fight

but not much else has happened since then
this county jail is built solid
and it's hard to argue with three hots and a cot
since the jailhouse nurse is delightfully perverted 😜

Billions ? Probably not so much as less than half the world celebrate Christmas in a serious way.

Still, that would be a little less than 4 billion, going by your numbers.

Sounds like billions to me.

And you think at least 2 of them are buying a real tree every year? How many kids, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims etc in that 8 billion?

I stopped buying real Christmas trees decades ago.
