My little friend Timmy was a big fan of chess. All his life all he ever did was talk about chess, but he was too sick to go outside and play chess with all the other children. Then he discovered Red Hot Pawn, and he almost forgot that he had leukemia, bronchitis, ephenephedrine, and the crabs. He was so happy, he played and played and played. He wasn't very good, but one day... he was finally winning a game! It was mate in two and he knew it! Hooray! He checked the site every day to see whether his opponent had moved so that he could perform his frail coup de grace. Then finally, he loaded up RHP and saw the game waiting! The phrase, Your Move, had never looked so beautiful to anyone before. It brought tears to his mother's eyes to see him smile broadly as he clicked on the game.
Tragically, by the time the page had finished slowly loading, he was dead.
And it wasn't mate in two.

Originally posted by hopscotchI never enjoyed a "claim win" so much as in that game with little Timmy . Thanks for the memories .

[b]Back to the same old problem slow RHP, click on move and it takes forever.
This has now been solved. (Finally!)
A combination of a bug fix in last week's attempted solution to this problem and additional processing power means the site has now never run quicker. (when loaded)

I just looked at fasterfox, and you are right, it would be a disaster if everyone started using that on the web. Prefetch Links - This is not good for the site (consumes resources which results in pages the user doesn't even see) but there is also a further problem with this.
If a URL is used for an action (say, delete a game) and there happens to be no JS confirm dialog, this prefetch links functionality could rapidly delete all your games without your knowledge.
Just a warning...
