possibly/ only ever had one bad experience with fish bought some mussels in a garlic cream sauce , they did not agree with me but the lesson I learned was buy fresh mussels and cook them yourself then you can throw the bad ones out.


Smoked brisket for me guys...8 hours over a slow fire of pecan wood...mmm mmm good.

Aussie badger, ITYF.

In any case, pickled herrings are a horrendous waste of a great fish. As any Dutchman could tell you, they should be eaten nearly raw or slightly(!) salted. And never kippered - you do that to gurnards, they're much better for it.
