I did a lot of hiking is so cal, I learned to make noise, because the rattlers are deadly but want to be left alone if you give them a chance. We are not they prey.

The Thai King Cobra, rat eaters, snail eaters, and even the odd green mamba.
They don't attack unless pursued or threatened, and therefore it's not a big issue.
They are of interest, but approcahing them deliberately is not advisable, as these are really wild creatures going about their daily feed ...[text shortened]... was so well camouflaged. It didn't raise itself to me, but rather tried to hide more!
I had a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula for 22 years - Charlie!
A tarantula (female) can live for upto 30 years!!
They are also more intelligent than a Budgerigar, and get to know you well.
She grew to bigger than my spread hand, and I used to open the door on Sunday mornings, with her on my shoulder, when the JWs knocked. They never stayed for more than 5 seconds 😀 😀
Whats the point of a lot of animals?? (the sloth??) I guess it teaches about the 'life force', the myriad ways in which it expresses itself not to mention the delicate balance between plants, the earth and all animals on this planet, which all serve to teach us of the variety and complexity of life.
It seems "God" created life as we know it on Earth to show humans that the way in which humans generally perceive the world, (value, economy, domination, etc.), is not the only valid way in perceiving the world and where some see uselessness and frustration , others see wisdom.
