So very, very many...

So very, very many human phobias and compulsions and aversions and worries and anxieties and fears that a quick google scan produces an enormous variety of gleanings (from unsupported opinions and academic research findings) from around the globe. Amazing to me that the sheer volume of this veritable harvest would likely exceed the capacity of the largest wheelbarrow on the planet and that there's such precious little agreement between all of the lists of least to worst fears.

Here's a sampling from from about thirty minutes worth of googling earlier this evening: First Listing: 10) Going to the doctor, especially if surgical procedures are involved. 9) Thunder and lightning. 8) Dogs whenever they show their sharp teeth. 7) Flying on a plane. 6) Rats (agile, sneaky, toxic). 5) Needles and sharp objects (and fear of being poked in the eye). 4) Insects (spiders that look deadly, roaches, etc). 3) Trapped in a small area, elevator or toilet for too long. 2) Heights (second greatest fear some people ever have). 1) Public speaking. Second Listing: 3) Humiliation of public speaking. 2) Peer rejection. 1) Untimely death.

Listing Three: 3) Fear of being nobody (or unappreciated for who and what you are) 2) Fear of having no one and being alone. 1) Fear of having nothing (not having personal needs met in a timely manner. List Four: 10) Elevators. 9) Driving. 8) Flying. 7) Death. 6) Deep water. 5) Debilitating sickness. 4) Financial problems. 3) Insects. 2) Heights. 1) Public speaking. Additionally, many phobias were cited as extremely serious and of continuing medical concern (fear of crowds, of leaving the safety of home, of walking under trees, under ladders, black cats and a number of others I became too fatigued to jot down on my notepad).

If I were to make a list, loss of personal freedom (coerced bondage, slavery) and fear of blind spots (thinking you see clearly but not really seeing the issue at all) would top mine. Red Hot Pawn GF threads only fear hijacking. Your comments. Thanks.

Nice to see you beating your fear!

I am still trying to figure out what I fear.

So far I haven't been able to come up with ANYTHING!

1. lists
2. public posts
3. bad chess moves
4. getting caught faking (you know what)
5. getting caught not faking (you know what, by you know who)

Reality is that they all play an incredibly significant daily role in the human condition. As with anything exerting influence or vying for control, understanding them trumps attempting to dismiss them as mere fictions by running away. Many agree with the point of view expressed in your post. Same people devote much of their discretionary time focused on mindless larger than life celebrity worship, other skim milk stimulation and canned laughter situation comedy on TV.

Stricly a matter of personal values, taste and choice for us all.

It is surprising that ignorance is not listed, and yet each of those is a product of it.
Comfort comes in knowing you are only human and that mistakes have, and will be made.

If you are ignorant of your mistakes, then all is lost (we all have a mental reverse gear but very few use it or have the courage to).

Good to see you back Bobby.

Warm greetings from afar to you, Woodgie. Fear of the blur of blindspots (included as one of the two on my list) runs deep within my psyche and more than embraces the ignorance you mention. In context ignorance of being ignorant undoubtedly explains its omission by enough of the many thousands of folks polled for it to register in the findings. Brings to mind the similar construct underlying the observation from scripture, "If the light that is in them be darkness, how great is that darkness".

Here is a novel little idea, if someone offered you the answers to two direct and to the point questions, what would your questions be?

#! What language of accomodation might enable a human being to more fully appreciate the concept of infinity and linearity and the quality of absolute happiness which existed in ETERNITY PAST?

#2 What language of accomodation might enable a human being to more fully appreciate the concept of forever and an insight into the relative length comparison of ETERNITY PAST with ETERNITY FUTURE?

Woodgie, what would your questions be?

At first I was afraid, I was petrified, kept thinking I could never post while you were on this site. But then I spent so many nights, thinking how you did me wrong, and I grew strong and I learned how to get along.

And so you're back from outer space. I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face. I should have changed that stupid lock. I should have made you leave your key. If I'd had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me.

Oh go on now go, walk out the door. Just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore. Were you the one who tried to break me with your spam? you think we'd crumble? you think we'd lay down and die?

Oh no not RHP. It will survive. Oh as long as it has to threads post in I know it'll stay alive. It's got all its forums to read and it's got all its games to give. and it'll survive. RHP survive. hey hey

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart. Just trying hard to read the rubbish of your broken thoughts. And I spent so many nights just feeling sorry for myself. I used to cry but now I hold my head up high. And you see me, somebody new. I'm not that chained up little person still in thrall to you. And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free but now I'm saving all my postin' for someone who's postin' reasonably.

Oh go on now go, walk out the door. Just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore.
Weren't you the one who tried to swamp us all with your spam? you think We'd crumble? you think we'd lay down and die?

Oh no not RHP. We will survive. Oh as long as we know how to type I know we'll stay alive. We got all our life to live and we got all our posts to give. and we'll survive. We will survive.

I had to think about those questions, and all I can come up with is that I am just as afraid of death as the next man.

As for the great time line, I doubt my part will amount to any more than just a grain of sand that makes up the beach.

As for answers, I think you might want to take a ticket and get in line for those.

My questions to the great Creator are:

1) You're joking right?

And,

2) Dinosaurs, what was all that about?

I hope this leaves you as confused as me.
