You're so in the money with these ones.

'Imagine' by John Lennon.

A millionaire singing "imagine no possessions", whilst playing on a grand piano in a huge mansion.

It makes me sick.

Definately, any song that shamlessly cashes in on a disaster deserves to be on this list. I wonder how long before someone writes a song for madaline mcan

hahah, never thought about it that way before, but you're absolutely right! I always hated 'imagine' for the whiny ambiance it had, but now my disgust just grew a little bit stronger.

I never had a problem with Boys are back in town, but wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.

I absolutely hate any song by The Boss Bruce Springtain. Stand in place and march to ANY of his songs, they suck.

I also hate most John Fogerty songs, as well as Don Henley, and Van Halen.... especially when they got their new singer(s)

There are even songs by these people I don't even KNOW WHY I hate, but I just do.

I hate ALL rap. It is not music....period!!

Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus was wretched. I vomit whenever this is played (or anything else he sings). In fact, I don't even like his daughter Millie Cyrus (Hannah Montana) either.

There are some songs that are lyrical drivel, but they have a decent dance beat to them so they are tolerable for that purpose. The song
"Walking on Sunshine" would fit this category. This song usually produces a smile, just because it is fun.

There are some songs that have tremendous lyrics but the singer flat out cannot deliver a tune, but the lyrics are worthy of listening. This would include many songs by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, et. al. I listen to many of these as well.

There are some songs that have no lyrical merit at all, but they are just fun songs to listen to. "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba stands out in this category. I like this song by the way.

Then there are the acts who basically produce popular fluff that millions of people like and purchase, but they can perform them well. Acts like ABBA, Neil Diamond, and America fall into this category. I like all of these acts by the way.

Females like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey who wail their way through depressing lyrics. They seem to be not so much singers, as people who hold a note for a long time - albeit in a wobbly, nanny goat way.

As far as Rap goes... have you ever listened to some old EPMD, Public Enemy, and Del La Soul?

They are good, and it's ok if you don't like them... just give a listen. If you are interested I can formulate a list some time Monday or Wednesday.

If that is the technical term, then yes. The Bee Gees used to do it too!

...And why would Nords not be technically correct? 🙁

Two of the Bee Gees used to do it. the other one died because he couldn't sing. 😲
