No, you were right the first time. I've never seen him live - just a joke I heard once. 😏

There you go then.

Now I'm under the impression you don't have a sexy body either!

It's over three hours long and by the end you're left completely exhausted and unsatisfied.

If I ever have to shag for three hours there better be an oxygen bottle on stand by.

I'm afraid, personally, I can't stand Buckley, but I have some close friends who love his music. The clip there (just photos with some twangy sound in the background) didn't impress me.

I'm not going to defend Springsteen's songs and especially not his lyrics. But just look at any old live footage of Rosalita, Born to Run, Dancing in the dark (especially compared to the awful Born in the USA track and clip) or Thunder road. It's powerful; energetic and what a live performance is supposed to be like (unless you're stoned).

gave it a fair listen huh?
anyway, never mind, my initial point was that you dont actually HAVE to attend a concert to decide whether and how much you like something. In fact, i have been to a couple of concerts by artists that i really liked, and was pretty disappointed.

Actually, no. I haven't. I should. So I will now.

Basically I agree with you. I've seen some pretty lousy concerts by artists I love (The Stone roses and Dylan come to mind) and I've seen brilliant concerts by artists I'd never heard of before (Jonathan Richman springs to mind).

But Springsteen, even though I'm not too keen on his music, never fails to entertain. Look at the clip. It's just electric (although crappy quality... I'm not too sure how to get the best out of youtube yet).

Obviously Springsteen isn't the "cool" thing to like.
But... it doesn't influence the shows. Live he rules.
I've been to his shows many times and he is the best live act I've ever seen, followed (if you're interested) by Billy Bragg (who nearly gave a stand-up act, besides the music) and Tom Waits.

Until you wrote that I always assumed this song to be about something else completely. Something cleaner...

Can't say I'm a huge Springsteen fan. I don't own any of his albums. I don't mind his stuff though. Being from New Jersey, I think I get a little more out of his lyrics than many other people would. Kind of nice and sentimental.

Born in the USA makes me want to go on a killing spree at Texas WalMart, but other than that, I sort of like him I guess.

He has a song about the serial killer Charles Starkweather called "Nebraska" that your wife might like.
