I was at the Alamo with my family once. We had just had brekkie, and I had saved a little pot of jam. There was a huge fat squirrel eating anything he coiuld get from the tourists. I opened the pot and put it on the ground. He grabbed it and ran up a tree with it. The fat little basty!

Heh, one just got carried off by some kind of eagle.

When I was in New York I visited Central Park where there are thousands of squirrels. Anyway, they seemed to be holding squirrel World War, chasing each other and fighting.
I was telling a friend of mine about one time I was walking along (in England) and a squirrel fell out of a tree right beside me. He didn't believe me, and thought that squirrels would never fall from trees. Just as he was saying this, one fell from a tree and landed right next to us!!
He believed me then.

Blimey, what a program. Ollney, Illinois seemed like, erm, a bit of an odd place though.

So, the female squirrel is 'receptive' for only one day a year. Think of the pressure those males must be under. Even then she leads would-be partners on a chase to sort the men from the boys.

I liked the faked burying of a nut to confuse rival squirrels.

I've only just begun to appreciate the bushy-tailed rats. The one's that wander around the church behind where I live a very tame, unlike the ones in Maine, and nice to watch when I walk in that direction. I'm beginning to take a liking to pigeons as well.

The grey ones are real little buggers over here (UK). The far cuter red squirrel has disappeared from all but a few places, all because of it's alien grey cousin.

My friends Nan was mauled by a grey squirrel. She was driving along and saw one in the road. Thinking it might be injured, she got out for a closer look, and the little git savaged her hand.

I don't like grey squirrels 😠

Ah, London's famous winged rats. The reason there's such a huge number of them there is that the tourists keep throwing them bread and the like.
