there are many different schools of thought MOST masters preferr 1.d4 because it is a quieter more "safe" move,alowing a slow possitional build up.
i preferr 1.e4 because afterplaying !.e4 you have the greatest number of possible next moves. seems to make "math sense" to me.

Well when I took a short look at your games I don't think that the first move was a problem. But as people pointed out here, maybe play a save opening bringing out the Knights and the Bishops before the QWuenn and castling early.
