Seriously, what do you think? Do vitamins make a big difference? Do you take vitamins and if so, have you noticed any change in your energy/health?

They are expensive πŸ™.
You should probably be checking with a doctor or dietician.

I have personally read a huge amount of research about this over the years:

Unless you have a particular deficiency in a nutrient or vitamin, with the possible exception of folic acid supplements (apparently), taking extra vitamins in the form of supplements is not only always NOT beneficial but, in nearly all cases, harmful!

Many people take extra vitamins of the antioxidant types because of research that apparently indicate that they might actually slow down the aging process because they mop up free radicals in the body. I used to take extra vitamins E and C tablets because of this research but then I was shocked to read in a science journal that taking such antioxidant vitamins in tablet form has exactly the opposite effect because research has proved that, for reasons that are still unclear, taking such antioxidant vitamins in concentrated TABLET form has such a peculiar effect on how they are digested that they actually produce more free radicals as they are being digested than they destroy in the body after they are digested thus doing far more harm than good!!! In fact the science journal said this fact has been a known scientific FACT for decades!!! -so why didn’t they tell everybody (including myself) who are taking such vitamins that they are wasting there money on vitamin tablets this before!? -I was very annoyed.

I have since stopped taking such vitamins apart from folic acid tablets which according to the research I have read to date reduces the risk of hart disease -I just hope that I don’t eventually read in some reliable journal somewhere that this research is also rubbish and that this has also been “known for decades” for that would just make me annoyed for not being told yet again.

Vitamin supplement retailers are nothing but con artists. They don't even push vitamins that much any more. The new scam is herbal medicines, and omega 3, or grape seed extract etc.

Trouble is, reliable medicine changes its mind quite often. If you look back at causes for heart disease 20 years ago, they've changed for some types...same with stomach ulcers, abdominal conditions. We can never know for sure, can we?

What drives me nuts is the research on freezing water in plastic containers and food storage in cans. For awhile, deodorant was dangerous. It's so annoying.

The bottom line is......eat "everthing" in moderation, exercise and see your family doctor at least once a year for a "checkup".

Juat eat in moderation, stay away from excess fat and sugar (soda is the worst thing you can ingest) and increase your activity level. The weight will fall off of you and you will get your energy back. I don't bother stressing getting 8 hours sleep cause it's very hard to do on a daily basis.
If you must take a supplement, do your research and go the herbal route. Olive Leaf extract works well for me, as I hardly ever get sick anymore and can run down just about anyone with little fatigue.
It is wise to go see a doctor first to get a "baseline" measure of your health, than go from there.
