Don't know what anyone else thinks, but I always feel a bit guilty when I take a skull! Yes, it's within the rules, chess is a game of tactics as well as time management, but I ask myself why do I play RHP? Is it to enjoy playing chess, to learn, to improve, to have a good chat, or is it just to improve my rating? Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anyone who takes skulls (I do it myself), but I just feel slightly guilty afterwards! Anyone know what I'm saying?!

Sometimes when I am playing a friendly, but I have been known to just scroll down and click any skulls that appear without even checking to see who the game was with.

And without skulls, I would be without my most lethal weapon in chess 😞

I don't normally do it in friendly games, but it's obligatory in clan games and part of the tournament rules in tourney games. No guilt attached to either of those. 🙂

I know exactly what you're saying.

I've left skulls on my list for months hoping people would come back to the site but eventually had to take them anyways, figuring they were gone for good.

In clan games, however, I was a lot more bloodthirsty. 😀

Agree with all previous comments. Keep on thinking of some poor chess fanatic whose PC has broken or who's lost Internet connection, desperate to make the next move. And then I take his skull! C'est la vie, I suppose!

After having suffered some 350+ timeouts myself, i simply click them as soon as i see them now. Casual games are an exception but i play very few of those...

160+ wins by time out in 3 years. You sir are a MONSTER of the highest order! I've been here near 8 years with under 40 time outs.

How do you sleep at night?

i like to crush yer skull,
that's right, i really enjoy it...
the only issue i have to consider,
iz the tool i will use, then employ it...

my handy mace iz often the first,
and the broadsword comes in next...
i'd stick them suckers, way up onna pike,
but i like to see them bones get wrecked...

just put yer head, right there on the block,
and let me take yer cap...
i promise that this won't hurt a bit,
all you crowd, step back now, here comes a hell of a splat...

GUILT???
really???

hmmmm...

I am the pianoman, I'll sing a song,
Yes, I've taken skulls, but I know it's wrong,
Chess is the game, the game of kings,
But, hey, the pleasure of those skully things.

First flash of bone and it's gone. Crushed. I don't have any guilt, as time constraints are all part of the game.
Generally, you will usually see a skull when you have the winning adge and the other person is dreally dragging thegame out. In this case I really love crushing that skull thing!
