Oh yeah, Safeway is all over California. Never been to Morrison's, but here's my problem with Safeway. First of all, they have this new store policy where every time you see a customer, you have to engage them in conversation. I walk into Safeway to pick up some milk or something, and I have to chit chat with about 10 of these "friendly neighborhood" ...[text shortened]... nd the store in a deliberate effort to make you spend more time there, thus spending more money.
Can you not get 100 + friends together to go shopping at same time and put their "friendly neighborhood" grocers" into a customer overdrive frenzy and short circuit their brains.

If you go in with a specific shopping list and ignore everthing else then you will only buy what you want. Stores hate shoppers like that who are inevitably men who do not buy on a whim. 😉

If Starbucks is just about your only option, you can probably justify the small investment of a coffee maker for your office. It's much cheaper to brew your own - plus, you aren't stuck drinking that burnt-rubber-tire-tasting French Roast of theirs.

Conclusion: People are sheep.
The Leaden-Eyed

Let not young souls be smothered out before
They do quaint deeds and fully flaunt their pride.
It is the world's one crime its babes grow dull,
Its poor are ox-like, limp and leaden-eyed.

Not that they starve, but starve so dreamlessly;
Not that they sow, but that they seldom reap;
Not that they serve, but have no gods to serve;
Not that they die, but that they die like sheep.

1. Why must I conform to their standard, by ordering a “venti”, “tall” or “grande” coffee? Just give me a large please.
2. There’s now a Starbucks on just about every street corner. They’ve closed down just about all of the little coffee shops with any charm and character.
3. Who ever heard of paying $2.50 for a cup of coffee???
4. Every time I order a ...[text shortened]... cup.
10. They now have the in Safeway supermarkets…another prong on the axis of culinary evil.
It's all about Peet's Coffee and Tea.

Is Peet's fresh? It's the most expensive coffee I can find in Safeway, and they don't have Cravens, so I rarely buy my coffee there.

The best place for coffee has become the little local bistros that have emerged all over the USA. Many of these serve coffee that is roasted locally, and was roasted within the past week. Although they compete against Starbucks, The Company deserves credit for stimulating the grouth of this sort of business.

http://www.cravenscoffee.com/

I prefer the Earth & Sky Organic Blend

My late wife had Ed Dorn as a professor in graduate school. It is true. My mother's coat wouldn't fit me, and she still wears it.

Sounds more like a money shot than a cafe drink.
