Allman Bros all the way.

Their new group with Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes on guitar is providing the best guitar playing in rock today...bar none.

When I go with the Allman Bros I mean the period with Dwayne and the new incarnation. Take that back, even the Born a Ramblin Man days were better than Skynnard.

Lynrd Skynrd simply because I have heard one of their songs - Freebird - and it rocks.

Don't know the Allman Brothers. Did they do Whipping Post?
If so, then Lynrd Skynrd.

hmmmm id have to chose the lesser of the two evils in this one. Duane allman was cool at least before he died. cant say the same about anyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd or any of there songs.

Their newest stuff..Hittin The Note and the live cd One Way Out features the best guitar playing around. Gregg's voice couldn't be stronger.

Derek Trucks plays slide like Coltrane. Warren Haynes is the best guitarist around today.

In my opinion, these two are so close, it just comes down to personal preference. I'd have to go with The Allman Brothers, though.
