two golden oldies for my input:

casablanca, and all quiet on the western front. all quiet, because it is so old but still so moving, and casablanca because it is such an excellent film!

my favourite films, however, are bill and teds excellent adventure, duck soup or grosse point blank. (not that i'm a comedy buff or anything...)

My favorites would also be oldies, perhaps because I am one myself!
Twelve Angry Men for Henry Fonda's performance, and Angels with Dirty Faces.

For a terrific horror movie you've got to see Hitchcocks Psycho. If that doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat nothing will.

Definitely a must see.

In lieu of that, any of my brothers home movies will do. One view of that brand of Addams Family will truely shake you to your core.

Now, I thought that Grosse Point Blank sounded like a really intriguing film....

...and then I watched it and although I enjoyed it greatly, I finally realised how lame the title was. It instantly dispelled thoughts of something rather gross happening at close range or something when you are confonted with a story about Mr Blank, set in the town of Grosse Point.

Grosse Point Blank. Has to be one of the worst titles for a good film.

Pulp Fiction.

I loved the way it made me laugh at things that afterward, I couldn't believe I laughed at. I loved all the little conversations. Has anyone been as intimidating as Samuel L Jackson when he was eating Brad's (or was it Brett's) cheeseburger and then drinking his Sprite? Bruce Willis was perfect as Butch, and it started a whole new down-hill slide for John Travolta (What has he done since that was any good?).

I have to agree, that and the previously mentioned Bladerunner are two of the best.

Pump Friction was also good, but In Diana Jones was great.
