Rereading the thread I think he was genuinely trying to help you but some language was unfortunate and get others jumped on him. It was probably a combination but I'd say mostly because of the conversation with Ghost.

Any moron can do enough research to ascertain that's just too big for me. One of the first actually solid decisions I made was that I'd have to pare down the engine size. I had also decided that agility was a higher factor for me than sheer speed. My 400 is plenty fast enough and it's as agile as a monkey.

Well, it wasn't just that, to be fair. Many in the thread responded by saying stuff like he was going overboard about it. If anyone in that thread was acting like a girl, it was him attacking people who spoke up.
Do you ever find yourself "going overboard" about things and "attacking people who speak up"?
