Originally posted by TheGambitOpinions on Akinbiyi are split... when he puts the effort in he's an asset, otherwise he may as well warm the bench.
Don't worry, I expect us to struggle in a big way over the next few games, we'll be lucky to get a point, Saturday was a big game for us. We have been panicking with our lack of signings but looks like our team unit can still perform (just) at this level. What are your fans opinions of Akinbiyi? Looks like a waste of space as a neutral. Hulse ill do Ok ...[text shortened]... ore that goal yesterday! IS Tonge injured? You looked to be lacking in ideas in centre mid.
I felt sorry for both Akinbiyi and Hulse yesterday, they both ran their proverbials off, but the service up to them was 3rd rate - high balls or exocet rockets in to their chest.
I think Tonge picked up an injury in training, but even when he's fit he's not the player he thinks he is!
We've been lacking in the centre of midfield since McCall retired. I thought we should've gone for Kavanagh or possibly Koumas.
Doyle has been a right signing for you hasn't he? Don't be surprised if a bigger club picks him up in January... I used to spend a lot of time in Cork a couple of years ago, and the locals were raving about him then.

well, well, another defeat for West Ham :/ guess it's some kind of a second year jinx. I don't know why do teams have these things? Is it that players feel that after one good year they have proved themselves or what kind of hangover it is? It wasn't so long ago that Ipswich was promoted, finished 4th, next year.. down down down you go.. I don't get it
Originally posted by SALADINseems so.. btw imo they didn't overachieve last season they are underachieving this season. Well, Reo-Coker, Harewood, Anton are.. and we are lacking good right-back and a winger. Still could be worse. Uh, maybe :/

Originally posted by blade68With Chelsea's team? I'd reckon that Andy Gray knows what he's talking about.
Before Sundays matches Andy Gray reckoned that if Arsenal and Liverpool lost they'd be out of the reckoning for the title... have you ever heard such twaddle?
We're only 5 games in!
I remember Newcastle been 12 points clear at Christmas and still being caught...
Originally posted by blade68Thing is that if both had lost, it would mark a huge difference between them and Chelsea and MU. It would also confirm the good form of ManU and Chelsea's efficiency, and the poor moment of Arsenal and Liverpool.
They've got a fantastic squad granted... but the guy's supposed to be a professional pundit?
Bring back Big Ron.
These differences in form wouldn't have disappeared in one week, especially considering the 'lost chance' scenario that would arise had they both lost, so one would expect the point difference to increase a little more rather than decrease in the next 2/3 games.
Chasing two teams at full steam ahead with 8/10 points above you is incredibly hard, especially considered that you still wouldn't have had your act together up until then.

Yeah but football is a funny old game (q:James Greaves)...
and with 99 points still left to play for anything can happen... and probably will!
Come on, speculating about football is fun and part of the game. Andy Gray certainly has the right to his opinion, and I don't think what he said is THAT far-fetched.
