I think we should follow the american's penchant for removing superfluous letters to its obvious conclusion and remove the "t" from Christmas.

After all, we don't pronounce the word "christ-mas", do we?

Also, it's a little unfortunate that the word celebrating the birth of Jesus has a crucifix shape in it, isn't it?
