I bury my money in a local park.

    I've said too much...
I knew it, feeding them squirrels, who are you trying to kid? 🐿 which park may that be? If flights are ever resumed from S. America I’ll have to go and visit, also feed the squirrels.

We may need two specialists - one cautious (Stees) and one brave (who?). I can only manage my own economy.
About a year ago when this all started to pop off I told a few people that bitcoin would hit record value, should have listened to myself and bought 1. Think it was around $4 or $5k when I checked at the start and it’s now around $30k 😱

A nice profit, but if we are not the gambling or adventurous type we hesitate and prefer to stay safe.

My grandad always told me to invest in bricks and mortar. (Property). It is the only investment that always goes up. (If you are prepared to play the long game and ride out any slumps).

Sure enough, because the population keeps going up, but not in all places.

I know someone that invested in land in northern Maine and he held the land for years.
He says the rise in value didn't even keep up with inflation.

But in any metropolitan area, land is a winner.

I have learned that owning property such as villa, condo or similar is always a good investment on the condition that you sell at the right time.

Property is always a good investment, but you also have to have the cash flow to do the up keep required. Depending on where it is property taxes can be high. In the end you want to make more on the property than you paid for it, obviously.

I can only judge from the Swedish property market from early 70's up till now and buying property - house, condo - has been a secure investment. I hope to move to another part of Gothenburg within in the next couple of years, need to be closer to family, and I have to start calculations again - how much can I afford, that sort of thing. Exciting! 🙂

I never thought of my apartments as investments - it was a natural way to live, in corporations - but it has turned out right during the decades I have been involved. But I have yet to solve the last one. 🙂
