You are wrong. According to the rules it's dead.
There was a discussion way back, about how we could determine what would qualify as killing the thread. This came about, because we realized that as soon as someone made a claim to have killed it, someone else could simply bump/resurrect it.
The general consensus was 48 hours.
Somehow for a year and a day, we thread never sat unposted for 48 hours, including the recent time when Noodles was at a conference and I had to watch it by myself.
Now though, it is officially dead. A ghost of its former self.
I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here
Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away
Last night I held Aladdin's lamp
And so I wished that I could stay
Before the thing could answer me
Well, someone came and took the lamp away
I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found
Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
Well, you don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

Once it was considered totally unacceptable for a women to show an ankle in public but now it is commonplace. Holding up players in a rugby union line out used to be illegal but now it is encouraged. I suggest that in a similar vein, the time when threads where sportingly referred to as dead after a mere 48 hours comes from a bygone age. An age when honour amongst thread posters was rife and the vulgar commercialism of today had not yet sullied the good name of thread killing threads everywhere.
I therefore propose, however distasteful it may appear to old timers in the thread killing thread, that we strike down the lore of old and hail this thread as very much alive and a beacon of progress and modernisation in thread killing thread evolution.
