I actually have a more fun suggestion for the rec system. There should only be a fixed number of total recs, like maybe 500. You only get a rec to give if you receive a rec. It sits on your post until you pass it on to somebody else.

But I am dumb. I don't get it. The google results for "oso" include OSO Hotwater, Onsala Space Observatory, and a Dutch magazine for Surinamistics, but I haven't found a bear connection yet.
