He was a great moderator, narrator and explainer of all things politics. Sunday mornings and election coverage will never be the same.

A great loss, indeed.

That seems very uncalled for. Russert was the best at utilizing those mini white boards and making the math seem simple. I always looked forward to watching him do elections. It's a real shame he died at this point in time, with such a historic General Election going on.

Agreed. It is so easy on the internet to throw off a comment and be cruel. The man was a reporter in the best sense of the word. Rest in peace.

at 18 years old, and probably never having voted before, it seems unlikely that you know much about Tim Russert, other than what has been in the news over the last few days.
There was a time when Russert was a respected journalist, but he sold out long ago to his corporate masters. now that he's gone, all of the media spin doctors want to jump on the band wagon proclaiming his "greatness", when 2 weeks ago they wouldn't give him the time of day, and would have taken any chance they could to screw him over. The man was a sellout, and for that, he earned my disdain.

* Echoes the authoritative tone of the thunderous proclamations of Jonathan Edwards in those days of yore in snowy New England*

Otherwise, how's everything going, Rev?

I wasn't proclaiming his greatness, I was just saying what I liked about him. It just seems very weird to say good riddance to someone who died relatively early, who wasn't like a Hitler or Stalin.

I doubt he needed anyone to give him the time of day, either. I mean, he did have his own weekly program as well as regular appearances on the nightly news.

I'm not surprised he was a sellout, though. But hey, who isn't these days? I'm sure they're out there, but most of us probably haven't heard of them.
