So stop moaning! They get your grade up, your opponent agreed to the time rule and also:
If you had an OTB game would you ignore your opponents flag if it had fell? No - so dont say its wrong.
Also, someone else uses timeouts......
Game 239711
Game 9806
Game 1100600
There is nothing wrong with taking timeouts. But as a sub you don't need to do this. However I would also support auto timeouts for clan games similar to those in tournament play.
I often take time outs - especially if my opponent has stated that they do in their profile.
There are some people who actively persue timeouts. Next Sunday 25th December is the aniversary of the last time I was timed out. I mistakenly took a 1/0 game in open invites and spent Christmas Day with my family. I'm still bitter about it now! - It was a p1200 player too which makes it all the more painful.

'Hollow victories', hmmm.. Dont know about that. I recently played someone in a clan game where i was a knight up and the guy was hardly ever moving. The skull came up and i grabbed it immediately. Then he returned half an hour later and had a go at me saying i was unclassy and could i not have beat him by 'normal means'. Naturally, i gave a go ba ...[text shortened]... ly eat it, unless i like you and know for sure you wouldnt time me out in the same circumstance.
In OTB game nobody complains when they win or lose on time....it's part of the game.
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugWhen you quoted invigorate, but deleted part of his post, you probably deleted the [ /b ] in the end, too. [ b ] (without the spaces) is a command for bold text, [ /b ] closes it, so the text after that will be normal again.
How did i make that appear in bold?? ive never been able to do that when i wanted to 😕

If your purpose is to improve your play by using the opportunity that correspondence chess gives you to analyze your games deeper, than you should generally avoid time outs. You gain no deeper chess knowledge or practical skills from such wins here.
I tend to adopt a "do onto others" approach. If my opponent takes timeouts without compunction, so do I. If my opponent doesn't take time outs, I don't. If I'm unsure about his policy, I usually send a PM reminder giving them an extra 24 or 48 hours after the skull came up to move. Time outs here are simply not the same as OTB; time management is a crucial part of OTB chess as you're sitting at the board concentrating on the game; if you get into time trouble in that situation, it's because you have managed your thinking time poorly. Time problems on RHP are usually because people have other things to do with their life; taking a skull shows nothing but that you have little consideration for the fact that a chess site might not be someone's no1 priority. It's one thing if they don't move for extended periods, but grabbing the win as soon as possible is bush. My nephew was once one move away from checkmate in a game here, had some health issues and the player about to be checkmated timed him out at first opportunity. A glorious "win".
