To save partly written messages

Would it be possible to save the partly written messages?
For example, if I would like to send a message someone, but in the
middle of the message if I realized that I did not know how to spell
the person's name or screen name. If I leave the message, I can not
return to my partly written message. is there away to avoid having to
write the message again?

Maybe a bit of a pain. You can copy it and paste it to a notepad
program. Then copy and paste it back.Just an idea.
