I have an electric kettle, does that count as a kettle?

I don't trust electric kettles.

many rangetops in the us are electric
if a person uses the element in the rangetop,
or the element dedicated to the kettle
it's still electricity
if a person uses a gas range, or a woodstove, or the concentrated light from a magnifying glass to heat the kettle
the heat is still measured in btu
british thermal units

even tho we americans are MUCH better at utilizing the thermal units,
we have allowed, in our extraordinary show of comradeship,
the british to retain the title

you may thank me and i will pass along the congratulations

Every evening my mother uses her electric foot spa. She literally stands in a tub of water before plugging it into the mains.

The world has gone crazy. At night, I put our electric kettle out into the garden.

Splendid, I'll start ironing the flannel sheets with the steam iron.
