I've read them. They seems pretty clear. So where are they?

Why have we had to suffer the continual slander that is going on of late in the forums? Posts that are directly abusive of other players are becoming commonplace. I don't care who started it, when or how. They are in direct breach of the TOS. If the TOS isn't enforced, then why was I asked to agree to them? And why is my subscription (a contract if you like) subject to them? Contracts cut both ways.

So for those of you who are prone to let aggression, anger, abusiveness, emotional or intellectual violence or any of the obvious -isms guide your typing, please stop.

And if please isn't enough, Russ would you please remove / suspend the posting privaleges of consistant offenders or alternatively, remove them from the site entirely.

Please is fine and for your information slander is oral so the correct word is libel. Then again libel must be damaging to someone's reputation to be illegal.

You are right, toe. I shopuldn't have let starvalleyway incite me to anger. I feel badly that I lowered myself to his level. I will ignore him from this point on. Thanks. 😀

You are right, and it is not easy to remove these posts right away... Plus, so many of late... you remove a couple and the thread makes no sense....

I wish everyone would simmer down, and if they have a problem keep it out of the forums... Contact Site Feedback if you have any problems.

If a post is removed, contact feedback. Any post that gets removed can be put back... but use your head. RHP doesn't remove posts for the satisfaction of keeping the users quiet; they are removed because they violate the TOS.

If users prefer to just flame each other, they should go to another site where moderators don't exist... look around... and decide if that is what you want for this site.

If you think there should be a religion forum, send it to feedback. If you think someone took down a good post, send it to feedback. If you think I am doing a suck job, send it to feedback. If you think someone is cheating, send it to feedback.

i see nothing wrong w/ the status quo

i think your fear is that this fourm will end up looking like a garbage heap like so many others, but there is one very important distinction: everyone poasting on this fourm likes chess enought to sucribe to a chess sight. that cut of the population i expect is less likly to make pointless, angry poast. there are some, to be sure, but not enough to be worth doing anyting about.

as for direct insults, so what?

That's why I'm always pushing at the boundaries of them.
I don't want to be a complete tosser.

At last! two posts that were actually funny this week and both in a whiney thread like mine.

Thanks for this post. I agree with you most definately. I have always been so surprised at the lax attitude we have with people who have been completely degrading and unappropriate on these threads...there are plenty of places for them to take thier negativity...I hope that RHP becomes a place where we no only get to enjoy this great game, but have lively, respectful and engaged discussions with our peers.

Thanks again,

thanks for bringing this very important matter to the notice of everyone!
we have excellent mods, but they can't be everywhere so we must use the alert moderator button whenever we see a violation of the TOS.
but that is not enough - steps need to be taken to deal with perpetual offenders.

i think it is ridiculous that people get insulted and attacked individually as well as by race, color and sex - it has happened and is happening and it needs to be stopped.

Judging from your intrusion into my Ivory Tower classroom, I suppose
your "peers" are limited to those whose ideas are sufficiently
similar to yours such that you do not find them "offensive" or "distasteful."
Anybody who doesn't fit this mold of a "peer" of yours should
either change, remain quiet, or leave, correct?

this isn't a matter of distasteful or offensive - though the latter is in the TOS.
if a poster is attacking or denigrating an individual, a race, a sex, then surely it is something we should all oppose.

that is why the TOS is there in the 1st place.

My point exactly. Offensive language is prohibited by ToS.
Ideas that one individual may find offensive, such as
proclaiming that all Jews go to hell, are not.
It's a simple as that. All ideas should be welcome.
