I didn't ignore you, Mr Forum Moderator sir - I must have been still typing when you made your first post, and I've only just returned.

I'm seriously trying to understand here, I'm coming to the conclusion that most of the stuff I post could be regarded as trolling. Although often I'm only asking for explanations, I get treated to putdowns.

So it's OK to change the subject (or attempt to) in a face-to-face conversation as long as you're not offensive or obnoxious or patronising, and also OK in in-game messages, even private messages. But not in forums, am I right?

I think I'm just too old to learn the ins and outs of the net world 🙁

I'm not quite clear on why this thread is an example of trolling by RN. He started the thread, and so far a known forum mod, and an anonymous mod have made ad hominem attacks against him; doesn't that make them trolls? Just trying to understand your logic here.

Would those mods have said anything if a thread about trolls were not started by RN? RN is the king of hypocracy, claiming others have done what it turns out he's been doing.

How often do PFC members for example start new threads against RN? Look through the threads, they are for the most part all still here and I think you'll find more often it's people complaining about PFC or 'biased mods' that actually throw the first stones.

If the librarian is not busy, perhaps he can compile a list... we'll see.

Either way, go back to serendipity. That was a user who claimed 'some' users were mean and that RHP needed to be cleaned up. Where are the mean posts? Where are examples of PFC users starting fights? When any one of us users don't agree with other users FACTS become personal attacks because some thin skinned or deceptive users want to paint some other users in a bad light.

Really, take a look around. For the most part any number of users who have nothing to do with my clan know that RN is trolling for trouble. He thrives on attention, plays the victim, and trolls from behind 'good intentions'.

Changing the subject and off-topic posts are allowed, to a degree. This is the nature of many threads - most people do this and threads are mostly more interesting discussions because of it.
Trolling is posting something controversial, off-topic or an ad hominem attacks in order to get an emotional response from another poster - thus turning threads into mud-slinging matches.

What is so difficult to understand about this?

@duecer
If you please would be so kind as to show me where exactly FM made an ad hominem attack on Red Night in this thread, so we can all point and laugh at you...
Thank you in advance.

Forget about MissO and duecer, FM, and let's get back on the topic of your impossibility to get random bushes to instantaneously combust...

Note my use of the word 'example'.

You may be right though, perhaps this is RN's first post not targeting moderators or PFC members. Also, as Dr. Phil might say, "Past actions are the best indicators of future performance".

Edit! So my wife says...

Logic doesn't work on he PFC.

They are impervious.

Basically, anything posted by a non-member of their clique is considered trolling in their "minds"

Posting on internet forums for the sole reason of irritating others for personal entertainment via posts with no valuable content.
