Trying to be positive

My wife has told me for years that I am a negative person. I am making a concerted effort to be positive. The only things I now post are positive. I figure it's a start.

So some positive things:

You are married
You still talk to each other
you have aims

That is a great start!

And you can take a (gentle?) ribbing.

And maybe a battle now and then without sulking?

Splendid sir!

I use to have a note on my computer saying 'be the most positive person in every room you enter.'

Quite the challenge.

alas negativity is rooted in my being , when I awake around lunch time( I rise late because morning tv is far to cheerful) I pour my self a double scotch and put some sad reality program on benefits street, rich house poor house, benefits Britain or the sheriffs are coming, I find it comforting that others are in a far worse state than me.then I lounge around on the sofa watching really bad made for tv US or Canadian films , I like to round the day off by finishing the litre bottle of scotch whilst watching britains got talent ( which it obviously has not) then its back to bed and my groundhog day looms back into view.

Why isn't it on your computer anymore?

The bigger family, the greater worries, and the greater happiness when things are fine.
