Have you ever tried fried turkey?
It does not come out greasy, the skin fries quickly and locks in the natural moisture in the turkey. You don't eat the skin. You eat the meat, which is moist, not greasy.
Don't make silly assumptions about things that you have never tried. I have had very good baked turkeys. None compare to the fried turkeys ...[text shortened]... shoot of a turkey bake, go right ahead. I'll be eating while you are basting.
Bon appetit!

So my advice about eating FRIED turkey is "silly"? I don't think so... And yes, dummy, I have eaten FRIED turkey.
And finally your arrogant statement: "If you want to live in ignorance, spending hours on end for a crap shoot of a turkey bake, go right ahead." shows just how ignorant you really are!

Once you try deep fried turkey you will never go back to the baked/roasted version. Baking turkey can dry it out and requires hours of basting. Deep frying takes 3 1/2 minutes per pound. The skin crisps right up and most of the oil stays in the skin. The meat retains all of its original moisture. Mmmmmmmm.
However, to avoid burning down the house, mak ...[text shortened]... o the turkey before frying, but it isn't necessary.
Enjoy and don't burn down the house. 😉
