Once you try deep fried turkey you will never go back to the baked/roasted version. Baking turkey can dry it out and requires hours of basting. Deep frying takes 3 1/2 minutes per pound. The skin crisps right up and most of the oil stays in the skin. The meat retains all of its original moisture. Mmmmmmmm.

However, to avoid burning down the house, make sure that you do it in the backyard with nothing around it and also make sure that there is no water/ice inside the turkey.

Some people like to inject marinades in to the turkey before frying, but it isn't necessary.

Enjoy and don't burn down the house. 😉

Fried anything is bad for your heart and arteries. 🙁

On the other hand, if you bake the turkey properly at a low temperature it will come out succulent. 😵

Have you ever tried fried turkey?

It does not come out greasy, the skin fries quickly and locks in the natural moisture in the turkey. You don't eat the skin. You eat the meat, which is moist, not greasy.

Don't make silly assumptions about things that you have never tried. I have had very good baked turkeys. None compare to the fried turkeys.

If you want to live in ignorance, spending hours on end for a crap shoot of a turkey bake, go right ahead. I'll be eating while you are basting.

Bon appetit!
