I am very very late on this topic but I just want to agree with boris here. I too have played exy many times. I won them all and maybe we drew once. Exy is a nice person and, looking at the #2 ranked player on the site, I think it ridiculous that exy of all people would be banned for engine use. And the same goes for Ironman.

[presumably they don't just "guess" someone is cheating]
On the other hand his pals say he didn't and shouldn't be banned.
[these people "guess" he didn't cheat cos, after all, he was a nice bloke and they played him.....though they can't remember the exact results.]
For the time being I'll believe the game mods.....I "guess" they know what they are doing.

There just isn't a lot of info that the game mods can give out on the subject, and that also fires up the doubt in users who have taken a lot of time to look through the games. I don't much care for this subject, but I had to point out that the people who doubt the game mods have done some work, and posted reasonable doubts about our desisions.

Must add that the game mods are still all 100% sure in our decision, and noticed No.1 was able to post on this subject well before I was able to finish this post.

The majorty of the people defending these banned players say they played him and "couldn't see anything wrong etc" or similar without having actually done any analysis.

Exy's words to me on the news of his banning are: -
"I have nothing to say myself. I think enough people know that the suggestion that I've been cheating for 2 years is prepostureous. Just get people to check the games ather play chess at a site that is fair then I suggest you vote with your subscription fees.
