Boro have been playing like this for ages, it was an accident just waiting to happen - some great recoveries, but they always looked like they were a little out of their depth towards the end of the season, in a hurry en route to a catastrophic implosion. It's worth remembering that Steve "Mike Baldwin" McClaren isn't at all popular amongst the Boro faithful: less than three months ago they were talking about sacking him, and even the other night they reserved their chants for Steve Gibson, not their manager.
Originally posted by Amaurotethats true - i think they should have played 4,5,1 as seville are the far better side and they needed all the help hey could get in midfield. McClaren plays boring foorball at boro, i can't see him changing for england - i think its going to be boring boring england for a while longer.

To be honest, I think they just fell apart after they went 2-0 down. If they had been award that blatent penalty when Viduka got pushed over in the area, it could have been a different story... still, it didn't happen, and that's football for ya.
Swartzer was pretty good, made good saves for the last 2 goals, but just unfortunate that his defence left men free to knock in the rebound.
